State Appointment Process Change

The Standard always seeks to streamline operational processes and reduce costs. As part of this effort, The Standard won’t renew state appointments for producers who haven’t submitted an application for more than 12 months in a state. Producer contracts with The Standard will remain active.

If a producer with a canceled appointment submits an application, we’ll immediately renew the appointment in that state. Please note that all states, except Florida, allow same-day appointments. In Florida, reactivation can take up to two days. This change won't affect your producers’ ability to sell a policy because we can renew appointments so quickly.

We review state appointments once a year as renewal fees become due. Affected producers will receive a notice about the appointment change.

If you have any questions about state appointments, please reach out to Producer Services.
