2026 RMD Notifications Coming in January

As we wrap up this year and prepare for the next, reminder that we’ll mail IRS Required Minimum Distribution, or RMD, notifications by the end of January 2026. 

What to Expect 

We’ll send a packet of information and forms to owners who: 

  • Will turn 73 in 2026
  • Must take their first RMD in 2026
  • Reached RMD age but haven’t set up automatic withdrawals
  • Received payouts in a way that doesn’t satisfy RMD requirements, such as scheduled interest-only payments

Clients who are already set up for automatic RMDs will receive a letter from The Standard confirming their 2025 RMD amount as of Dec. 31, 2025.
