The Standard ERISA Policies and Updated Regulations

The U.S. Department of Labor recently revised regulations for disability benefit claims under ERISA-governed plans. The biggest change is that we’ll add a new endorsement to ERISA policies that explains the new federal regulations applicable to claims filed on or after April 1, 2018.

We are working to add this endorsement to all ERISA-governed policies and expect it to take effect in the coming months. When the change is complete, we’ll send a letter to policyowners announcing the addition. We’ll give you a copy of this letter before we send it.
