California GSI Plans Moving to Platinum Advantage

GSI plans in California will move to Platinum Advantage GSI for newly eligible employees. The change will be effective July 1, 2020.

What's Changing?

We'll issue Platinum Advantage policies to all newly eligible employees in California, starting July 1, 2020. Employees issued policies before July 1 will receive a policy on their plan’s current product.

This change won’t affect current policyowners. We’ll process all future renewal increases on an individual’s existing product type. Clients with Protector Platinum policies, for example, will receive all future coverage increases on Protector Platinum, if eligible.

Please assure clients that Platinum Advantage policies will match the benefits provided by the previous product as closely as possible.

Notify Your Groups by April 1, 2020

We'll send the Notice of Change and Platinum Advantage offer letter for each case to your office in mid-March. Please deliver these letters to the client groups by April 1, 2020, to meet the 90-day notice requirement. A client signature is not necessary.
