What We Do
Children’s Healing Art Project (CHAP) brings the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges through in-hospital programs and community outreach. At CHAP, children are known for their creativity and ingenuity — not by their disease, diagnosis or disability. Art Club programs at the CHAP studio provide engaging art experiences for children outside of the hospital. Those who live too far away or cannot travel to the studio receive free CHAP in a Box art supplies at their homes. Volunteers are the key to CHAP’s success.

Volunteers are one of the most – if not the most – important parts of CHAP. Whether it’s simply a few hours or you become a weekly volunteer, CHAP would love your support. Since 2006, CHAP has provided over 75,000 healing art experiences to children and families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. With a staff of just seven, we rely on our volunteers to help reach these kids. Volunteers sometimes work directly with the children and sometimes behind-the-scenes to prepare art supplies for them to enjoy. Every activity is equally important. Please volunteer with CHAP today.
