Enhancements to Strengthen Account Security
Protecting our customers’ accounts and personal information is a top priority. To support that commitment, we recently introduced enhancements designed to strengthen account security and improve customer awareness of potentially unauthorized account activity.
These enhancements provide customers with an additional layer of visibility into important account changes while continuing to support existing email notification practices. The goal is to help customers identify potentially unauthorized activity sooner and take action quickly when needed.
What is Changing?
- Customers will be able to manage SMS notification preferences from the My Information screen after logging in to standard.com.
- Customers may choose to receive SMS notifications when their password, email address or mobile phone number is changed.
- Customers who opt in will continue receiving existing email notifications associated with these account changes.
- Customers may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by updating their message preferences under Profile and Settings, then selecting My Information.
Customer Experience
- During account creation, customers will see a new opt-in checkbox for Text Message General Conditions below the Terms and Consent screen.
- If a customer doesn't have a mobile phone number on file, they won't receive SMS/text alerts.
- SMS messages will advise customers when a password, email or phone number change occurs and direct them to contact The Standard immediately if they didn't make the request.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping customers protect their account information.
