The Standard Promotes Taylor Shaw to Assistant Vice President and Actuary

PORTLAND, Ore. — Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced that Taylor Shaw has been promoted to assistant vice president and actuary in Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management.
In his new role, Shaw will oversee the centralized Actuarial Modeling team that supports each of The Standard’s businesses. He will be responsible for strengthening modeling capabilities, setting standards of practice across the team and partnering with business leaders to prioritize achieving strategic and regulatory objectives through innovation, development and delivery.
During his nine years with The Standard, Shaw has built a strong reputation for deep subject matter expertise in modeling and a collaborative approach to cross-functional partnerships, laying the foundation for effective delivery and service that support the company’s broader business strategies. His leadership and experience will continue to play an important role in strengthening alignment across the actuarial community and supporting ongoing innovation within the organization.

Shaw earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Penn State University.
