Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Employee Expectations and Employer Obligations

Date: Thursday, July 16
Time: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Eastern
Location: 8th Floor

Speaker: Dan Jolivet, PhD, Workplace Possibilities Practice Consultant

Did you know that approximately 20% of the population is considered neurodiverse? This means they experience and understand the world in unique ways due to the way their brains are wired. Originally, the term "neurodiversity" was used to describe individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, but it has since expanded to include a wide range of mental health and substance use conditions, as well as some neurological issues.

In today's competitive business environment, it's crucial for employers to create a supportive workplace where all employees can thrive. However, managing neurodiverse employees comes with its own set of challenges. This session will delve into effective strategies for recruiting and retaining neurodiverse talent, removing the stigma associated with cognitive disabilities, and ensuring compliance with ADA/ADAAA requirements. We'll also explore practical ways to accommodate neurodiverse individuals, helping them to excel and contribute to the success of your organization.

Join us to learn how to build a more inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone.
