What We Do
The mission of Returning Veterans Project is to provide free, confidential mental and physical health services to veterans, service members and military families in Oregon and SW Washington. Our vision is for military communities to have easy access to no-cost, high-quality health care needed to recover from trauma and other injuries due to military service. By administering a large network of licensed and insured Volunteer Health Providers, we help hundreds of military-connected individuals and families each year restore hope and healing.

Executive Director Amy Almond-Schmid explains the Returning Veterans Project mission and services provided to veterans, service members and military families.
For veteran-focused nonprofits, partnerships with businesses like The Standard create opportunities to collaborate, share resources and expand support networks for veterans, service members and military families. Together we can identify the unique needs of the local military population, including employment transitions, leadership development and community reintegration. We believe it is our collective responsibility to offer support, healing and access to mental and physical health services for our veterans and military communities, and we excel in this work with your help!
