What We Do
Raphael House is creating a future without domestic violence. Since 1977, our 24/7 emergency services — including confidential shelter and hotline — support families in imminent danger after fleeing abuse. Meanwhile, our ongoing services — focused on safe housing, financial empowerment, addiction recovery and holistic wellness — are a long-term resource. We couple these with Prevention Education in Portland Public high schools, teaching youth about equitable relationships and consent, while providing them confidential support.

Domestic violence impacts everyone in one way or another, but violence is not inevitable. We know a world free from abuse is not only possible, but is something we can grow right now. Volunteers at Raphael House get to make a meaningful difference in survivors' journeys, offering connection, support and safety, whether volunteering in our shelter, on our 24/7 hotline, in our youth programs or behind the scenes.
