Honor Educate Preserve. Explore the events and people that shaped Oregon’s unique history.

With the help of volunteers, the Museum’s three new exhibit galleries, library, and historic park offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to explore Oregon’s military heritage and legacy, including people and actions of impact. Free admission.

What We Do

OMM Volunteer Corps step in as tour guides, library support, program assistants, and gallery attendants including our new exhibits:

  • We Are Oregon — Explore the people, technology, and actions that define Oregon’s military legacy on the local, national, and global stage.
  • Small Arms, Big Impact — A curated collection of nearly 200 American, enemy, and ally small arms from the 1600s into the 21st century.
  • History in Art — Discover artwork by and about the U.S. Armed Forces, their provenance, and the contextual knowledge found within.

Volunteers are at the heart of making OMM a success. Each volunteer has their own unique story as to how they became part of the OMM Volunteer Corps. We have new retirees wanting to connect with the community; lovers of museums, libraries, and history; veterans who connect to Oregon’s military legacy; students wanting to connect their studies with experience; military family members wanting to celebrate local service; others excited to engage younger generations thru field trips; professionals donating their time and expertise. If you have an interest, we have a volunteer opportunity for you.
