Maybelle Center is the Community Health Organization working together with neighbors in downtown Portland to reverse the root causes of social isolation.
What We Do
We promote social health by helping create a sense of belonging with adults facing the stigmas of mental health and financial poverty through our neighborhood programs in affordable housing and assisted living services.
As a volunteer, you’ll be helping create spaces where belonging can bloom — whether it’s a conversation over a coffee or a shared laugh at karaoke in our Community Room. Helping lead an art class, hosting a birthday party, or joining our community choir all help build a Portland where we are all seen and valued for our authentic self, not our circumstances.
Because at Maybelle Center, it’s not just about us. It’s about all of us. Together, we can bridge gaps in social health to create a thriving and inclusive downtown Portland where we all belong.

The community at Maybelle Center are the people that I call family. They’re the people that I celebrate my joys with and that I share my sufferings with.
