Fun, Learning, Inspiration, and Play: Children’s Museums for the Portland Metro Area

FLIP is the new children’s museum for the Portland metro area. We operate a small museum in Hillsboro, and mobile museums that visit schools, family shelters, and community events. We are working to open a flagship location in downtown Portland.

What We Do

FLIP is a children’s museum network that supports children and families with hands-on learning and play-based exhibits with an emphasis on multicultural programming. From building robots and forts, to playing dress up in front of a green screen, kids learn social emotional skills while engaging with STEAM-focused education. FLIP is growing its locations and mobile museums to serve the entire Portland metro area, reaching those with means and those without. Visit the first museum in Hillsboro and soon in downtown Portland too.

When the Portland Children’s Museum closed in 2021, we become the only major metro area without a children’s museum. FLIP is a community effort to bring one back, building a museum network that inspires a lifelong love of learning in every child.
