What We Do
For over 30 years, AMP has been a lifeline for marginalized and isolated young people, offering a safe, inclusive space where they can build confidence, foster community and heal from trauma. Alongside music and arts education, AMP provides essential support services, including nutritious meals, health and safety supplies and resource navigation. AMP is a community of artists, musicians, makers and caring Portlanders who want to see young people succeed. There is a place for everyone at AMP!

You don't have to be an artist or a musician to volunteer with us. You just have to be someone who keeps showing up. What I've learned running this program is that consistency matters more than talent. These kids need steady, caring adults they can count on week after week. We've got over 130 volunteers who prove that every day, and I couldn't be more grateful for them. We're also a small staff, so if weekly mentoring isn't the right fit for you, we could really use help from folks with fundraising or marketing skills. There are so many ways to show up for these kids.
