Amplifying BIPOC voices through the power of live performance.

Alberta Abbey Foundation amplifies opportunities for Black and underrepresented communities through the arts. Located in a historic NE Portland venue, we present live performances, cultural programs and community events year-round.

What We Do

Alberta Abbey Foundation is a Portland nonprofit performing arts venue with a mission to amplify opportunities for Black and underrepresented communities through the arts. Our historic 23,000 square-foot campus includes a 350-seat main theater, basement ballroom and café/lounge. We present and support live music, theater, cultural events and community programming — and we rely on passionate volunteers to help us fulfill that mission. Join us in making the Abbey a welcoming home for every voice in our community.
