Whole-Person Approach to Cancer Support

Cancer is a life-altering diagnosis. Physical and mental well-being — and the cost of cancer treatments — can be immense stressors for employees. That’s why The Standard looks to provide access to holistic support. Employee Assistance Programs, or EAPs, and advocacy services can support employees with cancer.

Employee Assistance Program Services

Battling cancer may be only one of the disruptions an employee is facing. A good EAP can help ease other work and life challenges. The Standard partners with Health AdvocateSM to provide an EAP that offers services such as:

  • Personalized legal center with access to legal experts, online legal forms and information
  • Behavioral health support for depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other personal challenges
  • Financial fitness center with financial experts and resources
  • Assistance with relocation services, locating child care, elder care and special needs services
  • Patient advocacy and services1

Health Advocacy Select or Health Advocacy Enhanced helps navigate the ins and outs of the health care system. See how these services’ features can support employees. They can help:

  • Locate providers or specialists
  • Confirm benefits eligibility and coordinate care
  • Answer questions about medical terms, tests and treatments
  • Negotiate fees to lower out-of-pocket costs
  • Resolve billing and claims issues

It’s important to remember that no two workplaces and no two employees are the same. But having the right benefits and resources in place can make a big difference toward recovery.

Contact your account manager with The Standard for questions about your program or for more information about EAP resources.

EAP can help find caregiving support and resources. Contact a representative near you for questions or more information about EAP resources.
