New Effective Dates Approaching for GME Policies

Start writing new GME program policies for the 2023-2024 season with July 1 effective dates.

Remember, you can write coverage with effective dates of July 1, Aug. 1 and Sept. 1 at the beginning of the upcoming GME season. No need to wait until Oct. 1. 

You can now offer valuable GME coverage from your first contact with incoming GME classes. Residents and fellows can submit applications at orientation and at the beginning of each new program year. The flexible effective dates don’t change any enrollment requirements.

All residents and fellows can take advantage of this new flexibility in policy effective dates. For those completing their training, residents and fellows can secure coverage any time during the GME program year and two full months after program completion.
