For New Applicants

If you are eligible for this coverage, you should have received details from your employer about how to apply. During your enrollment period, coverage is offered to you on a guaranteed standard issue basis. This means there are no medical exams. There may be limited financial underwriting requirements that your employer will take care of. There are a few basic requirements for coverage. For example, you must have maintained an active work status for the past 180 day(s). If you meet the requirements, The Standard will issue you a policy regardless of your health status. If you apply after your enrollment period, full medical and financial underwriting will be required. You will be required to provide detailed medical history information. And you may need to undergo a physical exam.
Your effective date is available in your personalized enrollment materials.
You may still be eligible for coverage even if you have existing coverage. The enrollment application asks for details about other insurance benefits. If your policy is issued, premiums will be deducted from your paycheck on an after-tax basis.
Yes. The coverage does not end if you leave your employer. As long as you pay the premiums directly to The Standard when due, your coverage will continue.
