Life Insurance
Group Life insurance pays a benefit directly to any beneficiaries you choose, such as your spouse, partner, children or other loved ones.
Basic Life insurance is paid for by your employer. You’re covered if you take no action, provided you meet the eligibility requirements. Coverage becomes effective the date you become an eligible employee. However, if you are an elected and appointed official, you are eligible on the first day of the month following the month in which you take the oath of office.
For information about eligibility and coverage amounts, please review the benefits at a glance.
PEBB also provides you the opportunity to apply for Optional Life insurance, which can further protect your loved ones in the event of your death. Since everyone's needs are different, you can select an amount of protection you feel will best meet the needs of your loved ones. Use the needs calculator to determine the amount of coverage you should apply for and the premium calculators (active employees and retired members) to estimate your cost.
Please review the coverage highlights for costs, exclusions, limitations and reductions before enrolling.
