Special Opportunity for New Hires and District Transfers

Members new to their district have a special opportunity to apply for CTA-endorsed Disability and Life insurance without answering health questions within 270 days of starting work. District transfers must complete a new application at the new school district within 270 days of transferring as prior coverage does not automatically transfer to the new employer.

  • CTA-endorsed Disability insurance coverage for members
  • Up to $400,000 of CTA-endorsed Life insurance1 for members
  • Up to $50,000 of CTA-endorsed Life insurance for spouse/domestic partner1,2
  • Additional $5,000 of CTA-endorsed Life insurance for spouse/domestic partner and each dependent child2
