Opportunities to Apply For Coverage With No Health Questions Asked

Members new to their district have 270 days from starting work to apply for CTA-endorsed Disability insurance and up to $400,000 of CTA-endorsed Life insurance¹ without answering health questions.
A special enrollment opportunity just for members in your association. Chapters are usually eligible for a campaign every two to three years. To learn more and schedule your Chapter Campaign, contact your dedicated Benefits Consultant.
If you are covered by a different Disability insurance carrier, you have two opportunities each year to switch your Disability coverage to The Standard without answering any health questions. You must apply during one of the special enrollment opportunity windows of March 1 - April 30 or October 1 – November 30.
CTA members who experience a change in family status, such as getting married or having a child, have 60 days following a qualifying event to apply for CTA-endorsed Disability insurance and/or up to $400,000 of CTA-endorsed Life insurance.¹

Applying Outside of a Special Enrollment Opportunity

Your members can apply for coverage any time by completing an application and medical history statement. They can start the application process on the Member Service Center site.
