Short Term Disability

Short Term Disability (STD) insurance is designed to pay a weekly benefit to you in the event you cannot work because of a covered illness or injury. This benefit replaces a portion of your weekly income, providing funds directly to you to help pay your bills and living expenses.

Eligible employees who are Non-Represented, Elected Official’s Staff, Local 701 Operating Engineers or Local 88-2 Physicians, Prosecuting Attorneys, actively working at least 20 hours each week, are provided Group Short Term Disability coverage paid by Multnomah County.
