In addition to the Life and Disability coverage options offered through your employer, you are also covered under a Travel Assistance benefit at no additional cost. Travel Assistance is designed to respond to most medical care situations and many other emergencies that you and your family may experience when traveling 100 miles or more from your home (or in a foreign country). Travel Assistance provides a wide-ranging program of information, referral, coordination and assistance services. These services include pre-trip assistance, medical assistance, emergency transportation, travel and technical assistance, legal services and medical supplies. Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year whether you are 100 or 10,000 miles from home.
For additional information on your general coverage, simply print out and carry the Travel Assistance Card found in the Travel Assistance brochure.
In addition to general coverage, employees of Montana University System have the option to cover extended stays, longer than 180 days, in a foreign country.
If you will be traveling to a foreign county for longer than 180 days, please complete and submit the attached form. For additional information on this extended coverage, print out and carry the Travel Assistance card found in the Travel Assistance brochure for Expatriates.
