Life Services Toolkit

Group Life insurance through your employer gives you assurance that your family will receive some financial assistance in the event of a death. But coverage under a Group Life policy from The Standard does more than help protect your family from financial hardship after a loss. We have partnered with Health Advocate to offer a lineup of additional services that can make a difference now and in the future.

Online tools and services can help you create a will, make advance funeral plans and put your finances in order. After a loss, beneficiaries can consult experts by phone or in person, and obtain other helpful information online.

The Life Services Toolkit is automatically available to those insured under a Group Life insurance policy from The Standard. Recipients of an Accelerated Benefit can access services for 12 months after the date of payment. Life insurance beneficiaries can access services for 12 months after the date of death.

Visit the Life Services Toolkit website with username of “assurance” for information and tools to help you make important life decisions.

For beneficiary services, please visit standard.com/mytoolkit with username of “support” or call 800.387.5742 for assistance.

Dependents may also convert qualifying amounts if their Life insurance ends. AD&D insurance may not be covered. To apply, please complete the Group Conversion Packet. If you have questions or want rate information, please contact The Standard at 800.378.4668 with your policy number "645746."

Portability: If your employment ends

  • You are under age 70
  • You must have been continuously insured under the Group Policy for at least 12 consecutive months

You must complete the Group Life Portability Insurance Application and pay the first premium within 60 days after you cease to be a Member. Premium rates for ported group coverage differ from rates for coverage under the Group Policy.
