Calculators

  • Use the Needs Estimator to estimate how much life insurance you should have.
  • Once you know how much life insurance you should have, find out how much it will cost by using the Premium Calculator.

Basic Life Insurance

Montana University System provides a Basic Life and AD&D insurance plan at no cost if you are a Member as defined by the Certificate of Insurance. The Basic Life and AD&D insurance becomes effective when you become a Member, provided you meet the active work requirement on that date. The Basic Life plan has two options to choose from:

Option 1 = $10,000
Option 2 = $20,000

If you do not enroll in an option for Basic Life insurance you will automatically be enrolled in Option 2.

Additional Life Insurance

Montana University System recognizes that individuals have different needs and has provided you the opportunity to apply for the right amount of protection for you and your family at very competitive group rates. Please use the Needs Estimator and Premium Calculator to estimate how much life insurance you should have and how much it will cost.

As an eligible employee, you may elect Additional Life coverage amounts in multiples of $25,000, not to exceed the maximum of $300,000.
