Automatic Rebalancer

Automatic Rebalancer is a service that will periodically transfer the assets in your account so that the allocation of your assets in the plan is in alignment with your current - the directions you have given The Standard describing how to invest the money you contribute to the plan. If your investment directives are consistent with your long-term investment goals, then rebalancing will ensure that your asset allocation remains consistent with your goals, regardless of what is happening in the financial markets.

Rebalancing will occur during May and November.

Here's an example of how rebalancing will work:

Investment Option Investment Directives Asset allocation before rebalance Asset allocation after rebalance
Investment 1 10% 05% 10%
Investment 2 20% 25% 20%
Investment 3 50% 52% 50%
Investment 4 10% 11% 10%
Investment 5 10% 07% 10%
Total 100% 100% 100%

The rebalancing process will transfer enough money out of your high-performing investment options - in this hypothetical example, Investments 2, 3 and 4 - to your lower-performing options - Investments 1 and 5 - to return to the allocation of your plan assets you originally desired. In effect, the process automatically forces you to follow the recipe for investment success: buy low, sell high.
