AD&D Occupational Assistance

Returning to Work After a Loss

At The Standard, we understand how hard it can be to move forward after a serious loss due to an accident. Recovering physically is the first step. If you need some extra help getting back to work — call on us.

The Standard offers a unique way to help you return to a productive life: AD&D Occupational Assistance. This service is now included with our Group Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, either with our Life insurance or on its own.

You can get personal assistance with challenges you face returning to work with your current employer. If that's not possible, we can help you train for and find a different job. Eligible employees* will have access to services provided by our Workplace PossibilitiesSM consultants. These are the same certified experts we offer to help people get back to work after a short term or long term disability leave.

How AD&D Occupational Assistance Works

AD&D Occupational Assistance can cover up to $10,000 of approved expenses for two years following your accident. Services may include the consultant's time, vocational assistance, ergonomic equipment and workplace accommodations.

  • Workplace Possibilities consultant helps you develop a rehabilitation plan that may include skills training.

  • Consultant can coordinate with you and your employer to develop accommodations and purchase and install equipment.

  • Alternate path: If needed, consultant can help identify jobs you can do, find and pay for training, and provide support with resume writing and job searches.
