Supplier Goods and Services
Our Procurement team routinely supports our businesses with its ongoing and changing needs. Our example category-of-spend list of goods and services from external suppliers includes: HR/employee services, IT software, hardware and services, printing, event services, promotional items, office equipment/supplies, logistic/parcel services and underwriting services.
Selecting Our Suppliers
The Standard's Procurement team contracts with suppliers through a disciplined and best practice process in partnership with our businesses. Supplier selection is based on business requirements that follow a competitive selection process in an ethical manner in line with our company's values. Suppliers are expected to deliver on their promise, continue to work with us to reduce the cost of doing business, identify and eliminate risks, and follow the agreed contractual terms and conditions.
Qualifying as a Diverse Supplier
All registrants are required to submit a copy of their diversity certificate(s) to complete the registration process and enter our supplier database. We use our registered diverse supplier database for goods and services as part of our sourcing process. Please note that registration in our supplier database is not a guarantee of business and contracts are not awarded solely based on diverse certification status.
The Standard uses Dun & Bradstreet services to confirm a supplier's diversity status. To learn more about becoming certified as a diverse supplier, contact diversity-certifying organizations. There are many across the U.S. at the local, state and national levels.
