When Disaster Strikes – Support for You and Your Clients

We want to assure you that whenever and wherever disaster strikes, we take action to ensure you, your producers and your clients are supported.

When a state issues a disaster declaration, we always follow the requests of the state and often do more. When we’re certain a disaster declaration is coming, we'll respond to individual requests for extensions as soon as we receive them — even if we haven’t received direction from the state.

It's common for states to request extensions on premium due and lapse notices. For many disasters, we go further by offering similar deadline extensions for items like:

  • Application closes
  • Requirements due to the home office
  • Increase application due dates
  • AIB renewal due dates
  • Maturity extensions

Recent Disasters

Many have been impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and others were impacted by flooding earlier in the year in Illinois. We’re taking steps to ensure you and your clients are supported and covered during this difficult time.

Illinois, Texas and Florida have issued emergency declarations, and we’re granting extensions based on their requirements. We also notify policyowners when such extensions are available.

We’re Here To Help You Focus On What Matters Most

We want you to know that The Standard cares about helping you, and our policyowners, recover. That’s why we’re here — to give you and your clients the peace of mind that you’re covered when the unexpected happens.
