Optimized FPO Quote and Application Processes

With the FPO peak season upon us, we are focused on providing FPO quotes and increase policies as fast as possible. To that end, we have optimized our processes to get illustrations completed and increase option applications handled quickly.

Optimized In-Force Business Process

What’s Different:

Submitting Increase Option Applications. Please send increase applications to  DIApplicatons[at]standard.com. This is the same email address used for new business applications.

Case Management. As you submit increase applications, each request will go to the next available case manager for review and case management. This will help deliver your case to an underwriter faster, which means you get a decision faster with less waiting for your customer.

What Hasn’t Changed:

These changes will have no effect on your access to your dedicated in-force case manager or underwriting team. Your in-force case manager is still your primary contact for all in-force business, and you can still contact them directly with general questions or questions about a particular case.

FPO Illustration Request Expected Response Time

We receive hundreds of FPO illustrations requests this time of year. To reduce the time it takes to respond to your requests, we are leveraging our entire team to return FPO illustrations to you. In most cases, your illustration request will be processed in the same day, but, in some cases, it may take until the next business day to complete your request.

Help Expedite Your Quotes and Applications 

Quotes. Please review your FPO reports and consult Policy Inquiry through The Standard’s portal to identify eligible customers. Brokers can use the FPO opportunity as a touch-point, helping customers assess their need for increased disability coverage. Send your identified top-priority requests to DIchanges[at]standard.com for an illustration.

Income documentation. Income documentation is needed for underwriting, and applications submitted without the required income documentation will be delayed. Please ensure all applications are submitted with the required income documentation.

Complete applications. Review all applications to ensure every question is answered. One commonly missed section of the application is the “Other Coverage” section.
