We’ve sent all active producers appointed in New York a contract addendum to comply with a new New York Cybersecurity Regulation. All producers licensed in New York must be in compliance by March 1, 2019. There are some limited exemptions for compliance provided under the law.

As part of a company-wide initiative to increase electronic processes and digitize records, we’re phasing out paper commission statements and payments. Starting this week, new producers must submit direct deposit information.
Starting Sept. 24, The Standard is changing how we process applications. All applications must be complete — with income documentation submitted and medical labs ordered — before we conduct the first underwriting review. This should result in more final decisions at first underwriting review.
The Standard’s Illustration Software will remove new business and increase quotes from the system after three years and seven months. If you want to hold on to your illustrations for longer, be sure to save them outside of the software, such as on your company’s server.
GSI plans in Florida will move to Platinum Advantage GSI, beginning Oct. 1, 2018. Producers must notify their groups by July 1.
