GSI Plans Moving to Platinum Advantage in NY, CT, DE, MT, ND, SD and DC

Existing GSI plans in six states plus Washington, D.C.  will move to Platinum Advantage GSI for newly eligible employees. The change will be effective Dec. 1, 2018 in New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington, D.C.

What's Changing?

We'll issue Platinum Advantage policies to all newly eligible employees in these states, and D.C., starting Dec. 1, 2018. Employees issued policies before Dec. 1 will be issued a policy on their plan’s current product.

Please note that this change does not affect current policyowners. We’ll process all future renewal increases on an individual’s existing product type. For example, clients with Protector Platinum policies will receive all future coverage increases on Protector Platinum. They would not receive new Platinum Advantage policies for the additional coverage.

Notify Your Groups by Sept. 1, 2018

We'll send MGA and SMP offices the Notification of Change and Platinum Advantage offer letter for each case in mid-August. Please deliver these letters to the client groups by Sept. 1, 2018. This will allow us to meet the legal requirement of providing 90 days of notice. A client signature is not necessary.

Please assure your clients that the Platinum Advantage policies issued will match the benefits provided by the previous product as closely as possible.
