Do More Business Electronically With Expanded E-Signature Capabilities

We're expanding the e-signatures The Standard accepts. This expanded capability is part of our ongoing effort to make it even easier to do business with us.

We will now accept application forms signed electronically with a stylus pen or finger on a digitized pad or touch screen. Be sure applicants sign each form individually, rather than cutting and pasting or saving and affixing signatures to each page.

We won't accept signatures placed by a system that results in signatures that are not the applicant’s actual signature. Similarly, we won't accept images of a client’s signature, such as .tif or .gif files, pasted into signature fields.

We'll — of course — still accept wet signatures (signed with a pen) and documents signed via DocuSign that originate from the home office. We’ll also accept electronically signed documents via a DocuSign account that has been set up and approved by our home office staff. And documents signed at policy delivery via DocFast are also still acceptable.

The Importance of Technology Security

We share a collective responsibility with agencies and producers to protect applicants’ and policyowners' personal information. We take this very seriously, and know you do too.

As you and your producers add electronic capabilities to help share information and collect electronic signatures, please make sure you're doing your part to protect personal information. Be sure to comply with applicable laws and have clients consent to do business electronically. And always conduct the necessary research to ensure you choose reputable vendors and services.

Thank you for working with us to enhance client service while simultaneously protecting client information. If you have any questions, please reach out to your case manager.
