A Note From Kristi Olson

Dear GSI distribution field:

Thank you for being so welcoming during my transition to the Sr. Director - GSI Operations and Underwriting role! These first weeks have been a whirlwind. My eyes hurt from reading so much product information and so many slide decks but it’s ALL GOOD!

Thank you so much to those of you who have been incredibly patient with me asking so many questions. The questions won’t end any time soon, so please know I appreciate the guidance and support.

I’d like to share a little of my background with you. My husband, Mike, and I live in the Portland metro area. We have two boys, Josh (22) and Jack (18). Both boys were very involved in sports and our lives seemed to revolve around tennis and baseball during their high school years. We still play an active role in the community. You can typically find us cheering on the local teams on any given weekend.

I love the outdoors and try to spend as much time as possible outside. I also enjoy almost all kinds of music. It’s common for me to sing at the top of my lungs during my early-morning commute to get my blood flowing!

I’ve been at The Standard for 27 years and was “born and raised” in The Standard’s Employee Benefits division. Much of my background has been in underwriting, although I have experience in operations as well. Of these 27 years, 17 of them have been in a leadership capacity. The transition to GSI is a natural fit and I’m thrilled to begin my work with you.

My initial goals will be to focus on the team and get up to speed on the product and the business itself — basically, to soak it all in! After just a few short weeks, I can already tell I’ll be working with some amazing people. I look forward to working with all of you and achieving great results in GSI!

Best regards,

Kristi Olson
