Most producers who work with The Standard know the company offers high-quality group Life and Disability insurance. What you may not know is that The Standard also offers an excellent group Dental insurance product.
Dental coverage, according to a recent LIMRA study, is the second most requested employee benefit after medical coverage. John Hewitt Associates reports that Dental insurance is the most frequently purchased voluntary employee benefit. You can provide your clients with a highly valued benefit by including Dental along with the other coverages you offer.
Plan Design
The Standard offers a full range of insured dental products with numerous features that can be adjusted to meet most of your clients' needs. These include a number of plan options for coinsurance, deductibles, benefit maximums, methods for determining maximum allowable charges and placement of procedures in benefit categories. Voluntary Dental plans with low participation requirements are available as well as high/low plans and core/buy-up plans. The Standard can offer your clients a PPO network of over 7,000 provider access points in New York. Our available PPO plans include both single and dual coinsurance schedules. The Standard also offers lower-cost Maximum Allowable Charge (MAC) plans in areas with high panel density where the maximum charge allowed for a dental expense is the PPO panel dentist contracted fee whether the provider used is a panel or non-panel dentist.

We also work to ensure that plan participants can quickly and easily obtain the claim information they need. Insured members and dentists can verify eligibility, obtain benefit summaries and obtain information about a paid claim or pre-determination for benefits via a toll-free customer service line, an interactive voice response system and Web site.
Plan Administration
With The Standard your clients can get flexible billing options, depending on the number of lives in the plan. Smaller cases are generally list-billed to allow for ease in maintaining detailed eligibility records. Larger cases sometimes demand summary billed premium statements. All lines of coverage a client has with The Standard appear on a single bill. There is a single point of contact for account management of all coverages.
