Short Term Disability (STD) insurance is designed to provide financial protection for eligible employees by promising to pay a percentage of weekly earnings to an employee who cannot work because of a covered illness or injury. Other features of the plan include the following:
Standard Insurance Company provides STD insurance to eligible employees of companies through the Printers' Disability Trust. Employers have found this to be an important tool in retaining key employees. PDT provides a variety of plan designs and the choice is up to you.
PDT offers all levels of coverage to meet a variety of employer needs. The chart below and the Benefits at a Glance documents provide details on the various plans available and how they differ.
