The State of Nevada provides a basic amount of Life insurance to help protect your loved ones in the event of your death. Since everyone's needs are different, the State of Nevada also provides you with the opportunity to apply for Voluntary Life insurance from Standard Insurance Company — a simple, easy way to further help protect your family. It allows you to apply for the additional coverage you need, with premiums deducted directly from your paycheck if you are an active employee. In certain circumstances, you may be required to provide satisfactory proof of evidence of insurability.
If you participate in the State of Nevada's PEBP–sponsored medical plan, the State provides you Basic Life and AD&D insurance. The Basic plan is $20,000 of Life insurance and $20,000 of AD&D coverage. Dependents Life insurance is also provided in the amount of $2,000 for your spouse and eligible children. See the Life Insurance Certificate for more detailed information.
You may also purchase Voluntary Life, AD&D and Dependents Life insurance at group rates.
