APS provides Basic Life and AD&D insurance automatically at no cost if you are an active, full-time employee (including one classifed as a cafeteria employee and a short-term contract employee designated as benefits-eligible employee) regularly working at least the number of hours per week required by APS, but not less than 30. The Basic Plan is $10,000, for both Life insurance and AD&D coverage.
APS recognizes that individuals have different needs and also offers active employees the opportunity to enroll in group Additional Life and AD&D insurance.
You may elect Additional Life and AD&D coverage in multiples of $10,000, to a maximum of $400,000. You and APS share the cost of this insurance.
If you are enrolled in the Additional Life coverage, you may also elect Dependents Life insurance for your eligible spouse and child(ren). Spouse coverage is available in any multiple of $10,000, to a maximum of $400,000. The coverage for your child(ren) is a benefit of $10,000 each. You pay the full cost of the Dependent Life coverage.
