Selling simplicity: The Standard launches All In One Disability insurance
With rising expenses, smaller staffs and shrinking budgets, it’s more important than ever for employers to find a cost-effective, time-saving employee benefits plan.
That’s why Standard Insurance Company is introducing an employee benefits plan that controls costs and saves time: All In One Disability insurance.
Available in most states, All In One Disability combines group Short Term and Long Term Disability coverage in one simplified package. Employers get a plan that’s simple to administer, while employees get the robust benefits they need to help protect their income.
"All In One Disability allows employers to offer robust disability benefits while easing their administrative burden," said Luce Giroux, Second Vice President of Product Management. "Employers have the flexibility of choosing employer-paid or employee-paid plans, as well as options to tailor the coverage to the specific needs of their employees. Employees will find that the coverage is easy to understand and that enrollment is simple."
All In One Disability also includes the following features:
- An Own Occupation definition that includes a more refined “own job” period, which is based on a claimant’s particular job with their employer
- 90-Day Preexisting Condition waiver: Benefits payable up to 90 days even if the disability was caused by a preexisting condition
- A menu of optional benefits you can use to customize the coverage (such as optional benefit waiting periods)
To help facilitate employees’ return to work, All In One Disability offers a Rehabilitation Plan Provision to help with expenses such as job search, training, education and family care. A Reasonable Accommodation Expense Benefit is also included to reimburse employers for worksite modifications made on behalf of disabled employees.
For groups with 10 to 2,499 insured employees, All In One Disability includes a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided through an arrangement with Horizon Health. The EAP helps employees and their families address problems such as stress and anxiety, financial and legal concerns, alcohol and drug abuse and child or elder care.
This policy has exclusions, limitations, reductions of benefits and terms under which the policy may be continued in force or discontinued. For costs and complete details of the coverage please contact your insurance advisor or the Employee Benefits Sales and Service office for your area.
