Alabama
- Alabama requires that a premium receipt be provided to annuity applicants. Standard Insurance Company has developed a premium receipt to be used when you sell one of our annuities in Alabama. Read more.
Arkansas
- Arkansas requires a new Replacement Form for annuities sold on and after January 1, 2010. The new form includes a contract comparison. Read more.
- Arkansas requires the NAIC’s Buyer’s Guide for Fixed Deferred Annuities be provided to annuity applicants at point-of-sale. Read more.
- The Arkansas Insurance Department’s Rule 82 has expanded the state’s annuity senior suitability regulation to include purchasers of all ages. Read more.
Florida
- On December 25, Florida annuity producers will be required to use two new forms when they sell annuities to seniors. Read more.
Washington
- Washington requires that domestic partners be recognized on the same basis under state law as spouses in a marriage. However, many features of annuities are regulated under federal law which solely recognizes traditional marriages between a man and a wife. Therefore, annuity benefits and privileges afforded under federal law to spouses in a traditional marriage may not be afforded to domestic partners. It is important for you to know a number of the annuity benefits and privileges under federal law that will not be provided to domestic partnerships. Read more.
