On February 24, 2006, Standard Insurance Company celebrates its 100-year anniversary.
In 1906, founder Leo Samuel started a life insurance company that would provide quick and fair claims payments with personal service to Oregonians. Through his years in Portland, he also served the community through financial support of a variety of civic improvements and charitable efforts, including the city's first public swimming pool. Although the company now provides financial services and investment products to more than 7 million people nationwide, the value we place on relationships and our commitment to our communities remains as strong as it was 100 years ago.
